Devon Link Up is seeking a positive and proactive Support Worker to work at our Farm. We want to find a new member for our team who is looking to be a part of an exciting organisation that makes a positive difference in people’s lives. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone that likes their working days to be varied and who is ready and willing to take on new challenges.
You must have horticultural or grounds maintenance experience, craft and/or woodwork skills. A passion for home cooking would also be beneficial. It’s also important to be able to assist with and maintain relevant administration tasks that run parallel to the daily face-to face support work, and to be able to use a computer to a level that will allow you to do this. Most importantly, you will need to have had experience working alongside people with learning disabilities and autism.
Devon Link Up is an organisation led by, and for, people with learning disabilities or who are autistic and live in Devon.
Heathfield Farm offers meaningful and purposeful day activities that lead to people developing genuine community connections, growing in self-esteem, self-belief, and confidence. Our ultimate goal for those people that want to achieve this with us is to help our clients to build the skills to create opportunities to get into volunteering or paid employment, thus becoming less reliant on support services.
We are supporting disadvantaged people to become empowered and autonomous and to achieve things in their own way, in their own time and on their own terms. The Farm provides a safe and welcoming space where people can spend time in the natural environment which promotes mental and physical wellbeing.
28 hours per week Mon-Thurs £12 per hour.
